All of Jared Gold's designs start of as Illustrations. Jared sits at a light table and draws them all on a long continuous roll of tracing paper, the most he has ever done in one sitting is 16. He then translates them to his staff of patternmakers, seamstresses, print designers, and embroidery digitizers. In this exposé you will be able to see the piece as Jared originally conceived it ,and then how the item actually walked out on the runway. Some of the drawings never make it to final runway looks as you can see, this is almost always due to time constraints, or production issues with the pattern or fabric sourcing. In the next two posts for this gallery, Jared will relate his one-on-one experiences with each design and try to shed some light into the history of the look, and ultimately some of the problems he had rendering it as originally designed.
